A pie cambiado

This sort of diary puts into play everything from autobiographical texts to others in which he was taking the pulse of the current situation of this sport. It is not the temporal references that are important here, but a vision that transcends the anecdote, the dates and specific facts, to offer a profound reflection on a world that he believes he has come to know very well. Whether talking about the beginnings of an athlete, signings, the private life of a soccer player, substitutions, the politics of institutions and clubs, the Quinta del Buitre -of which he was a part- or Alfredo Di Estéfano, what remains is a look between skeptical and funny, full of disbelieving echoes about a world that formed a major part of his life. And although sometimes humorous, other times serious or emotional, there is a final intention to reconcile football, so excessive and greedy, with other much more basic and purely human ideas that make it recover its charm; and to do it, in this case, through literature.
