¡Bienvenida adolesc(i)encia!
cambia tu forma de ver las cosas, y las cosas cambiarán de forma
Esteban Hernández, Carmen
If there is anything more difficult than having a teenager in the house, it is being that teenager. Their physical appearance is usually more similar to that of an adult than to that of a child and for this reason, they are often required to act as such. The typical two-year-old tantrum stage is now known as A(two)lescence. A priori, it may seem like a very ingenious and even funny name, but unconsciously what we are transmitting are prejudices regarding the stage of adolescence that are generating fears and insecurities in families. No mother or father is born knowing how to be. We learn as we go and many times we have to draw from experience. And what is our closest experience? Our own adolescence. But the teenagers of today have nothing to do with the teenagers of years ago and therefore, the strategies that were used before are meaningless. Thanks to scientific advances, we have more and more information about how the adolescent brain works; a brain that is in full development and full of opportunities for growth and learning. The intention of this book is to accompany professionals and families of adolescents so that, instead of worrying about them, you have tools and knowledge that allow you to take care of them with love and respect.
