I el cel ens va caure al damunt

Forns, Albert

On Tuesday, May 31, 1938, five Italian planes dropped sixty bombs on Granollers. It's rush hour, nine past five in the morning, and the explosions are ravaging the weaker population. 226 people die, mainly children going to school and women in the ration queues. The bombing, one of the most sadistic of the Civil War, lasts only a minute, but that minute changes the city forever. And the sky fell on us is the reconstruction of those sixty fateful seconds through its protagonists, the witnesses of that day who still survive and who have been able to be saved from oblivion. Albert Forns novel with a style that captivates about twenty of these lives hit by the bombing. A journey to 1938 that not only honors and humanizes the victims, but portrays the yearnings of a country and its people before calamity befell them.
