Literatura y mímesis

In this study the foundations of moral education and character education are exposed. Some of the questions that are answered are which evaluation methods are the most appropriate, what is the Aristotelian legacy that underlies its praxis, and why positive character traits have led to a paradigm shift. In addition, guidance is offered on three pedagogical tools that, in turn, stand as pillars of personal growth: moral examples, the pedagogy of the question and family involvement. From a sincere concern for the need to link character education and literature, the relevance of the literary story as a tool for the cultivation of moral education is underlined. Mimesis is the key that enables this learning, which unfolds its full potential once combined with the corresponding phases of acquisition of character traits.
