Saint Catherine of Alexandria and Hypatia of Alexandria were two marvels of wisdom, courage and lucidity, who challenged the established order by wielding their conviction that safeguarding reason, freedom and justice is necessary for any civilization to be worthy of being called that. The first is an emblem of faith and virtue; the second, of scientific and philosophical erudition.
