Sergi Mingote joined the expedition that attempted the first winter ascent of K2 (8611 m) in the winter of 2020-2021 and where, unfortunately, he lost his life. It was the only eight thousand that had not yet been crowned in the coldest season and a gateway to the history of Himalayanism. This book narrates the expedition to winter K2, alternating the voices of Sergi and the author who, with a journalistic tone, follows the evolution of the expedition: the route, the history of the mountain, the progress of the expeditions that winter, and the Sergi's day by day through the chronicles he sent from the high altitude camps. The fragments of interviews prior to the adventure reveal all the issues related to the expedition and the way Sergi saw the world and related to the mountain. A vision very similar to that of the great mountaineer Tamara Lunger, who shared an expedition with Sergi, and who introduces us to the book with an emotional prologue. But beyond Sergi's sporting facet, his figure and legacy have transcended in the numerous solidarity projects that he promoted in life. With this book we honor his memory trying to make his dreams, always big, always generous, go ahead.
