Tempestad en la pecera

la nueva civilización de la memoria de pez

Patino, Bruno

In The civilization of the memory of fish, Bruno Patino denounced the dangers of a humanity that even then was confined between the crystals of its digital fishbowl: perfectly free to swim in its waters and open to everything, but trapped within limits that do not being transparent they were less rigid, unable to focus or grow, worn out by the passage of time and the endless demands of notifications that plague our devices. The unprecedented experience of the pandemic has highlighted this very situation: we are an inattentive and forgetful society, which was saved from isolation thanks to its technical ability to talk, work, see each other, keep in touch and have fun at a distance, but at the same time he discovered, in an accelerated way, the bars of his digital prison, free to know everything, but devoid of desire; constantly chattering, but eager for real contacts... Now, when we have finally been able to leave the fishbowl of our homes, we at least know what we have to do to get out of our digital fishbowl and recover our social life. It is not possible to go back, and disconnection is a lure: it is up to us to face this new civilization that has dragged us down and transformed us from the roots in just twenty years.
